The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) made recommendations about groups that should be the initial targets for vaccination, including pregnant women, children aged 6 months through 24 years, caregivers of children less than 6 months old, emergency and medical personnel, and people aged 25 through 64 years with certain underlying medical conditions like chronic lung or heart disease or diabetes that increase the risk of influenza-related complications CDC is working with state and local health departments to develop plans to administer the vaccine. There are a number of options and probably each state will use a mix of strategies but the specific logistics of the program will be up to the states ,working with their local health departments, and within certain agreed-upon parameters.
