Personal Dialogue Statement:
My name is Diane Haney and I bring a parent perspective to the table. I personally started a Parent Organization on a county level to educate parents about their rights, responsibilty and role of their children education. The focus is on reaching Title I parents who have students that are below, far below, At Risk and/or disadvantaged. Through the summer we reach out to ALL parents that are difficult to reach during school hours and get them onboard with training at local public libraries. We give financial management, learning resources, parent advocacy classes tp parents who are falling through the cracks. We give Title I training workshops that bring that bring parents, teachers, districts and community organizations together in a collaborative forum. We train parents to be leaders and effective advocates for their children education success. We teach them how to be the CEO of their's in school and at home. We teach parents how to read and understand their school's report card. We identfy and high light best practice schools on a county level that are Academic Achievent Winners. We engage and give training workshops to Faith Base Organizations that are in the community of Program Improvement Schools (PI) schools, providing an opportunity for them to work in collaboration and provide assistanc where it's needed the most. Advocate for parents in IEP meetings when requested by parents or schools.
